Mazaròl Lions : Chapter 36 "Lion's Persistence"

“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard to Glasgow Airport, one of the most historical and graceful places in the world. It is always my pleasure and thank you for flying with us. Enjoy your visit!” The captain of our private jet announces after the plane lands smoothly. “Hmm… I just got a nice dream from my catnap.” Heliodor says while he is stretching his body on his seat “Is it a good sign already, partner?” Obviously, for the whole flight, Elio sits next to him since Heliodor is the one who arranges the seats for all of them. Elio doesn’t do anything for the entire time as he just sits silently beside him, feeling totally cautious, and the first hour he spends his time listening to his bubbly voice telling nonsense before Heliodor falls into dreamland. The last two hours feel more like heaven for him before getting back to the cruel reality of facing them for one last mission, the one and only shot they got. The time is finally here, the day they have been waiting and preparing for the best, and it is hundred percent more nerve wracking than any other day they had for their entire life. Fasten the seatbelt lights turn off then Heliodor quickly gets up from his seat only to stretch one last time while shouting something that could pump them up but at the same time give them a thrilling sensation. “Sweet little destructive! Here I come!” He shouts loudly like a child who is excited to get their favorite dessert after a long day of school and goes to the front where the flight attendants and pilots are. Once hearing that cheering, it obviously makes one of the lion’s members groan frustratedly while she is packing all of her stuff and the other one just has that smirk of satisfaction upon that reaction. Sofia gets up from her seat and looks at the members immediately, checking their condition and thankfully seems like nothing happened during the flight. Even though they barely get to talk or communicate with each other, thankfully before getting here, days before, they already talked and prepared a lot of things in the case of something like this. After all of them pack up their things and get off the plane, there are two Mercedes Benz G63 and one Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 parked in front of them. All cars colored in black matte anti-reflective, level of tinted windows around 20-25%, and of course, hundred percent bulletproof both the body parts and wheels. Once Heliodor starts walking down the plane’s stairs, one person comes out from the S680 car to greet him. Based on what this person wears, he is absolutely one of the most important, admirable, and right handed people of this country. Look at those badges and that shining gold thing on his suit… Elio says to himself and feels pity of knowing how long those things will last on his clothes, probably less than 24 hours from now. “Pleasure to meet you again, Heliodor.” The person that approaches Heliodor and offers a handshake that Heliodor gladly accepts with that innocent smile on his face. “It’s always an honor to meet you, General.” Heliodor says when he accepts the offer “With all due honesty, I still can’t thank you enough for what you gave to us.” he appraises him, probably sniggers with himself while saying that, after the handshake breaks. “Well… all I can say is that we are very grateful to have you with us. Please, let us accompany you there.” The general replies genuinely and leads all of them to get inside the car. Before Heliodor follows the general, he turns back only to search for Elio and gives Elio a sign to get in the same car with him again. Without hesitation at all, Elio gladly accepts his invitation and gets inside the car from the opposite side of Heliodor. On their way out from the airport, they get greeted again by trucks of military corps in front of the gate then follow them right at their tail.         “Exciting, isn’t it?” Heliodor whispers into Elio’s ear since the general is sitting at the front seat beside the driver, no one can hear them. As always, Elio doesn’t let any word come out from his mouth, instead he just looks at him and throws his face away from him right after the general is done. “Sorry that it might take long, gentlemen. The ride should take no longer than an hour.” The general says from the front and looks at them through the center mirror. “Understandable. Nevertheless, who doesn’t want to get a free ride from a S680 with the general?” Heliodor jokingly says and it actually works as the two people in front of them laugh their belly off. This is one of Elio’s questions that could never be solved by Elio despite how hard he thinks, tries to figure out, or does some research to make such a hypothesis. What this person had done for these people to make them actually give all of their trust like this? To get access to such a ‘restricted’ place, especially from someone like him who is sitting right in front of him, the price must be far away from a bag of chips. An hour passes by in a flash, in contrast for Elio whose ears almost bleed hearing their conversation that is full of nothing other than lies from Heliodor, they finally reach the huge gate with that long perimeter fence and full weaponed soldiers line up tidily. “Gentlemen, always a pleasure, introducing Royal Naval Armaments Depot Couport.” The general says and receives cheerful claps from Heliodor that looks like those people who just entered an amusement park. This side of him never fails to give Elio goosebumps and disgusting feelings at the same time as it makes all of his back neck hair raise. The access given by the soldiers who are guarding the front post to slowly open the gate in front of them, totally feels like they just got a presidential visit. Their destination is a bit deeper from the security gate, the main bunker of where they saved all of those targeted weapons, and the general is non-stop proudly talking about the place. Apparently, Heliodor must be the one who gets entertained the most from the general explanation while Elio feels like he wants to throw up because he always gets reminded of the fact that someone like him can be fooled so easily. Now they finally arrive at their last destination of the main bunker and once again get greeted by tidily lines of soldiers in front of the gate into the bunker. The general and the driver get out of the car first, leaving the two of them inside and Heliodor takes this chance to give another ‘encouraging’ sentence for his partner. “Haa… now look at that.” Heliodor says and bends over his body to get close to Elio which makes Elio instantly throws his body away from that direction and looks at him weirdly “Do you think his face will stay like that once it’s already hung up on one of the historical monuments in this country?” Heliodor’s sadistic thought still works effectively to Elio as it makes Elio twitch his eyebrow and squirt his eyes, looking totally disgusted by it, but this is what Heliodor is looking for. “I bet it is.” Heliodor says with that devilish smile on his face, noticing the expression Elio just made, and gets out of the car when the door beside him opens by one of the soldiers. His words, the way Heliodor behaves, everything about him is no longer something new to Elio but it still gives effects to Elio’s anger. However, Heliodor just missed out the chance to witness something of what Elio just did which is something new and probably the one last time he is going to see it. “Let’s see yours too.” Elio says with a smirk on his face before getting out of the car. All of them now are inside the bunker and the general is taking the lead for them to explore the place, including Elio because the general doesn’t give any permission to let anyone outside. “And this…” The general stops in front of a huge metallic, probably made with tons of steel, gate “We proudly present you our nuclear fault.” After the general presents that, Elio takes a quick glance at Heliodor’s side which makes him get what he predicted, he barely can hold that devilish smile on his. “Wow…” Heliodor replies in amazement and takes a few steps closer to the gate to touch it. According to what he is doing right now, he must be putting something at the gate which allows him to get full control later when he needs to, the chip. The chip probably could boost his bot, the one that he stole from Elio, or it might have some other features which this is that Elio needs to be prepared for. Thankfully all of the tigers get what's the meaning quickly since they already plan and pay more attention to every single thing the lions would do from the beginning of this mission. But this time, for the first time from their previous mission together with them, it sounds like it didn't go as Heliodor wanted. “With all due respect, Mr. Heliodor.” The general says and puts his hand on Heliodor’s right shoulder “I’m afraid I need to ask you to step back from the gate. From this moment, all of the members finally witness how Heliodor’s smile slowly fades away for the first time, not totally disappearing though. Should they be happy about it? That would be the biggest mistake if they chose that because Heliodor builds the smile in a flash once again. “Oh,” Heliodor replies and takes a step back from the gate only to face the general “Sorry. I should have known.” This is the time where the choice to be happy or glad will be the biggest regret they ever felt. It looks completely normal for only a couple of seconds until… “And…” Heliodor continues and takes the general hand off from his shoulder, holding it still in front of him “You should have known about my authority as well.” That genuine looking smile from before suddenly changes into something horrifying that it gives a sudden goosebumps to everyone in the room including the guards. Noticing something unwanted is going to happen, they quickly draw and get ready for shooting toward Heliodor and the members’ direction but all of it is already too late. “Zircon.” Heliodor gives the signal in that short second of them drawing their weapon. No matter how fast their reflex is, it won’t be as fast or surpass the speed of someone pushing a button to trigger the bombs to explode. The explosion is taking over all of the guard’s location and the only part that doesn’t get hit is where they are all standing. Since this part is one of the emergency plans that Heliodor had explained to them previously, the tigers don’t get too panicked now as they keep focusing on the lions’ movements. “Heh,” The general chuckles even though his position is still right in front of them “Welcome to your new homes in this bunker.” Confidently says that each of them will be residents of each cell with the highest security level in this bunker. Heliodor doesn’t say anything, instead he just smirks and takes off his hand from the general then walks closer toward the gate followed by the others. Getting this unexpected ignorance from them, obviously pisses the general off but at the same time makes him confused as well. On the other hand, the general still has the guts that the only access to open the gate is only by using his personal data which makes him still feeling like he is in the winning position, pity for him. The general looks around first and surely none of the guards are survived by the explosion but believes that soon enough the others are going to get in here because it must be noticeable from this place. With that put up in his mind, the general decides to not worry too much and provokes them since they are all just standing in front of the gate, waiting until it opens. “You can’t get through that gate, Mr. Heliodor. There is only one-” The general’s sentence gets stopped by the gas that comes out from the gate and the yellow lights are flickering like giving a signal of warning. “Sorry,” This time, it’s Heliodor’s turn to reply “What did you say again?” He turns around with a smirk on his face only to find and enjoy the face that the general is making on right now, terrified and looks all of the red on his face get drowned. Getting totally off guard by their action of opening the gate but the general manages to regain himself to get the guts to talk at them who look at him with pity. “Corps are on their way to get here because of your bombs! You might get inside of the fault but how unfortunate that all of you can’t get out from this place without a scratch.” The general threatens them once again. This one is getting handled by Citrina as she approaches him and shows the screen on her phone which is their security cameras that shows something that breaks every single pillar of confidence of the general. None of the guards notice it as they just keep patrolling around the place they have been signed up to and the people, who are watching all of the security cameras, don’t look panicked at all, it looks completely normal. “Keep it tightly close together or…” Citrina takes out a knife behind her back and points it in front of his mouth while glaring at him “I will cut it nicely for you.” Defeated without a slight chance of winning by them and it makes the general can’t feel anything or let out a word from his mouth. Now the safety gate in front of them is completely opened, then all of them can finally walk in together. “Did you see his face?” Heliodor says to Elio with a smirk and puts his arm around Elio’s shoulder while they are on the mid way to reach the room’s fault of where the nuclears are. No response from Elio but there is someone who is helping him to answer it from behind. “Best part so far.” Zircon’s voice can be heard and Heliodor chortles, feeling a hundred percent of satisfaction. “Ugh…” As usual, one member that always gets irritated in any kind of situation is “Just get this over with.” Citrina says and paces up to her to surpass them. “Yes, ma’am~” Heliodor replies jokingly and salutes as well which gives a chance for Elio to walk away from him by following Citrina’s pace. There is one last huge metallic steel gate in front of them and Heliodor’s smile becomes wider and wider, almost becoming the bridge between his ears. He approaches the gate and touches it once again just like before, meaning that is the second chip so far from the tigers’ observation. Not even half of a minute, they gain the access again and slowly the gate opens, greeting them with the things they have been looking for which brightens the lions’ faces. “Holy mama mia…” Heliodor says when he steps inside the fault only to find lots of gigantic missiles and beside of it there are the aircrafts for delivering the package nicely done. This view is something that only hundreds over billions of people get a chance to witness and probably take a close look at. The lions’ feel so fascinated from the view and how great it will be if they manage to land some of those missiles to the targeted area. Meanwhile the tigers’ can’t help but think about those innocent people who are going to get involved without any specific reason just because of these people's urge of revenge. Sofia starts to feel uneasy from it which makes her check on the other members only to find that she probably doesn’t need to worry much because of their faces, Saku and Elio. Those fighters look where they are ready to face and fight everything or anything the lions prepared behind their back, just like the first mission they had together. Even though she notices Chae's face that gets a bit paler, Sofia believes that Saku will watch her back as now she only needs to focus on stopping the lions. “Get all those gears, boys and girls~” Heliodor says excitedly and walks toward the flight gear area “Greece here we come!” According to their plan before, they are going to split ways here because they are going to use two of the aircrafts at the same time as one goes to Greece with Heliodor while the other comes with Citrina. Obviously Elio will be going with Heliodor but this time, he includes Sofia to come with him as well while the rest is in Citrina’s aircraft. Since Heliodor is such a ‘wise’ man, he wanted to let all Greece’s places get the taste of his gifts so he chose to take two of their largest military planes, C-17 Globemaster III. All of them now are geared up with the equipment and lots of missiles already loaded up as well, they only need to take those things to their dropoffs. “Alright this is our part-” In a way of saying goodbye and goodluck for each other, Heliodor gets cut off by his member which nonetheless is her. “No dilly dally. Finish your job.” Citrina says irritatedly and rolls her eyes, not stopping her movement to get on the plane’s stairs. “Aww… come on… could you please not be rude once to others?” Heliodor tries to persuade her to listen to his words at least once. No response at all like Elio is not Citrina’s way but she just doesn’t say anything rude back at him, instead she just scoffs and continues walking up the stairs. “Oohh, you’re too much sometimes.” Heliodor says underneath his breath with a resigned smile and shakes his head lightly. Again, something unexpected happens right in front of their eyes which is when Heliodor draws his gun out then aims it toward his partner. Not directly hitting her, the bullet hits the rear door where she is going to take another step before getting on the plane which makes her jolts in surprise and quickly draws her gun as well. When her eyes land on where the bullet was coming from, meaning that Heliodor successfully takes her attention. “Take care and goodluck, partner.” He simply says and puts back his gun, finally continuing to get on the plane as Elio and Sofia follow him right on his tail. Based on Chae, who is looking at the face Citrina makes right now, it is the first time she has used that kind of expression. Indescribable face but it looks painful yet she quickly turns herself back forward then gets on the plane. With that being said, both of the planes are taking off from the bunkers smoothly without any suspicion from the militaries since they also get access toward their communication system. This is why don’t let powerful things get into these kinds of people’s hands, it might be the end of the world if they can use it wisely like Heliodor. “Fiuh… Nice and easy, right?” Heliodor says once he gets the signal that they are out of the bunkers area and able to turn on the automobile system “Like stealing a candy from a kid!” Both Elio and Sofia don’t let any word come out from their mouths as they just sit there and look at him expressionless yet intimidating. Even Heliodor himself can notice the way they are staring at him is different which gives him chills and uncomfortable just from it. Well… for Elio, he knows that Elio barely says a word to him but Sofia? When she is this awfully quiet, Heliodor starts to think and gets some kind of warning to be aware. When Heliodor is busy reading their expression and thinking what’s on their mind, suddenly the one who breaks the silence is Elio as he chuckles and looks down on his feet. “Indeed.” Elio speaks up first then looks up only to meet with Heliodor’s eyes that are widening “It’s like stealing candy from a kid.” For the first time, Heliodor witnesses to see that horrifying smile on Elio’s.
