The sword drops from my hand.
Fall into my knees while my left hand is holding on my right arm.
The staff comes quickly at us to remove the hook from our body wires.
Quinne who’s in front of me bows to me, the ref, and the audience.
After that, she leaves me alone on the stage.
Didn’t say any words to me.
The cheering is so loud that I can’t even hear the ref and the narrator announcement.
Now my head hurts too, feels like my vertigo almost climbing to my head.
The rooms start spinning in my vision.
Aghh.. not now..
Fortunately, I didn’t take off my mask yet so no one knows what faces that I made inside here because of the pain.
But for Mari and Mana, they notice how bad my condition is right now.
When the staff tell me to go behind the stage, they immediately follow me.
Now we're back to the previous preparation room.
The staff wants to help me but Mari and Mana stop her.
“Umm.. miss, is it alright if you leave the rest to us? We’ll take care of her.” Mana says from behind the staff.
“Oh sure! Then I will leave her to you. I take my leave.” She replies.
Thankfully, she didn’t reject Mana's request.
“Thank you, miss!” Both Mana and Mari say then close the door.
When the staff leaves the room, I open up the mask right away.
Letting out a loud sigh that takes their attention.
“Vil! Here, take your medicine!”
Mana moves quickly to where I sit then takes out a purse from my bag.
That’s where I put my headache medicine.
Mana takes one pill from it and brings it to me.
She also prepared the drink for me.
On the other hand, Mari helps me to take off the body wires.
Before checking my arms, she asks to roll my sleeves.
The only response that I can give her is just nodding my head slowly.
When Mari checks my arms, someone breaks into the room.
“Vil! Are you alright?!” A familiar male voice.
My eyes are still closed because my head still hurts.
But I recognise this voice, I can hear it even when I am at home.
That’s my brother’s voice, Nicolaus Valter.
From what I heard, he immediately rushes to me then checks the condition on my arms.
Of course he knows about these wounds.
“Oh my god, Vil…” I can clearly hear his worried voice.
The twins stay silent for a moment.
“We’re really sorry for what happened to Vil. That’s our fault because …” Mana words get cut off from my brother.
“Hey hey.. it’s alright. I understand, okay. That must be this baby decision, right?” He says.
Open my eyes a little bit to look at him right in his eyes.
From my look at him, it can clearly be seen that I don’t want to be called “baby” in front of anyone.
He responds with a small grin on his face then turns his focus back to the twins.
“I know you guys are worried about her but don’t put the cause of it on you guys.” He says while patting the twins head with his hands.
“I’m the one who should be grateful for. Because Vil has these two precious super besties who always take care of her and never leave her alone!” He cheers them up.
The words that come out from my brother successfully brighten their faces.
Those smiles start coming up again.
“Please don’t get tired of this little baby, okay.” He gives final pats then turns around to look at me again.
Once again, I’m giving him the same glare as before.
He responds by sticking his tongue out then he shows me that grin again.
Rolled my eyes from him but there’s a little smile on my face.
“How does it feel, Vil?” He asks while checking my arms as well.
“It's just that.. It really hurts when I try to move it like this.” trying to raise my right arm.
Just from the slight movements of it, it’s enough to make a lot of pain to myself.
“Also it’s really heavy like there’s a ton on my arm right now.” try to explain more about how my arm feels.
“I see then it will hurt even if I just..” He says while pressing little by little.
“Ah!” almost shouting from the pain when he presses it a little bit harder.
“Hmm.. Should I drive you to the hospital? Twins, can you lend me a help here? ” He suggests.
“Yes, sure!.” Both of them answer it at the same time.
My right arm is killing me right now and I know it.
But I need to think how I will look in front of everyone after having a match with Quinne.
Weak.
“Wait!” I say to stop them from helping me to get up.
“I think I just need time to recover my arm like before. Besides, I also have the painkiller at home so I guess it would be fine.” I say to them.
Try to convince them and hide my true intention.
Mana and Mari look at each other then look back to my brother.
“Hmm.. but it would be better if we check it to the doctor as well, Vil. I know you hate hospitals but you need to bear with it.” He replies then proceeds to help me again.
“It’s fine! I know it hurts but it's fine, brother.” try to hesitate once again.
“Mmm.. nope! You come with me!” He says playfully ignoring my words then he lifts me up.
Ahh.. I’m doomed..
“Twins please help me to bring Vil belongings, okay?” He asks the twins then turn around to exit the room.
“Okay!” They answer.
When we walk out from the room, it’s only just the two of us now.
Thankfully, no one is around right now.
“Hey.” He calls me softly. “I know back then you were thinking that people might give you something negative again.”
Ahh.. he reads my mind so easily..
“That’s why I already make sure that no one will know about this, sis. My car is nearby and I promise no one will see us.” He pats my head.
From his actions towards me, I can feel how warm my chest is right now.
He is very thoughtful when time like this comes.
“Thank you. Appreciate it very much.” replying to his kindness.
“Heheh chill.. You’re my sister! My one and only little sister!” He says proudly.
**Arrived at home**
My brother helps me get out of the car.
“Thankfully it’s not broken or anything, sis.” He says while we’re on our way to my room.
“Yeah. Thank you for helping me.” replying to him.
“But you still need the weekly check up, Vil. Just to make sure your arm is alright.” He reminds me of what the doctor said before.
“Mhm. I have to because I don’t want anyone else to know about it.”
“Also remember what the doctor said, don’t use it too much at least for this week. If you want to study, just read it okay. You can’t write much right now.” He warns me.
“Nahhh.. I will recover from it in just two days! I’ve been through worse than this, remember?” I ask him but in a playful tone.
“Ahh.. right.. I’m so grateful that they are not here as well.” He let out a small chuckle.
A small chuckle also comes out from my mouth.
Finally arriving at my room, my brother put down my bag on my desk.
“Thankfully tomorrow is Friday, sis. It’s not a long day in school.” He says.
“Mhm and my schedule is not that busy either. I can rest tomorrow as well.” Replying to him
“Alright then I will go back to my room, sis. Ah! The medicines are inside your bag, okay! Rest well, sister.” Holding on the door handle.
“Thank you. Love you, bro.” replying to him right before he closes the door behind him.
“Too!” He replies then the door is shutting.
Checking my schedule once again.
Alright, no homework for tomorrow. I guess I will study lightly for tomorrow's subjects.
**Next morning**
“Good morning, Mrs. Vilheimina. Thank you for calling me. How are you today? What can I help you with?” Gerry greets me in front of my room.
“Morning, Gerry. I’m fine. Thank you for asking.” I need to called him because I’m sure they haven’t prepared the breakfast that I want to request this morning
“Can I get two eggs and some bacon for breakfast? Also do you have soy milk?”
“We have everything that you just listed, Mrs. Vilheimina.” He answers.
“Alright then that’s all that I want to say. Thank you, Gerry” my reply to him.
“My pleasure, Mrs. Vilheimina.” He bows lightly then leaves.
Closing the door.
Alright I need to make sure of my condition this morning.
Try to move my arm a little by little.
Up, infront, down, behind, right, left, circling.
Mhm.. better.
This time, increasing the speed to move my arm around.
“Ah!” slightly sighing from the pain.
As expected, it still hurts to move that fast.
At least it’s better than yesterday.
Done preparing myself before school, taking my bag with my left hand then heading to the dining room.
Entering the dining room, I already know something must be up again today.
My parents are there and I can tell from this room's atmosphere.
“Morning.” Bows a little to them then walks to my seat.
Only two steps into the room, a male voice interrupts myself.
“Change.” My father responds.
“Sorry, father?” stopping my step and looking at him with a questionable look.
He already gives me that deadly glare.
“Change your uniform. You are not going to school today.” He replies.
My eyes open wider, that surprises me.
Never has something like this happened before.
“I’m sorry father. What do you mean I’m not going to school?” I ask him.
The loud voice that comes out from the slammed table makes the atmosphere in this room become more tense.
“Do you think you can hide it from me?” He asks me angrily.
Huh? Did he notice my wound getting worse yesterday? How can he know about it?
“I’m sorry father. I don’t mean it like that.” apologizing to him with my head down.
“Did you know how disgraceful it is for our family?!” Now he stands up from his seat and comes closer to where I stand right now.
“Answer me! How can you almost lose to Quinne in that match?!” He grabs my hair this time.
Ahh.. I should have known that.. It’s about that family name again..
Letting out a grimace because of how harsh he’s grabbing my hair.
Doesn’t give him any answer then he finally lets go of his grabs by pulling my head until I fall down on the floor.
“How old are you right now, huh?! I already trained you since you’re four! But the result is that you are still on the same level as her?! Unbelievable!”
Holding my hand tightly to hold my anger inside myself.
“I’m sorry Father..” My voice is small because I just realized that I landed with my right arm.
It hurts but I can’t show it to him or my mother.
More problems will come if they notice it.
“Sorry? Did you just say sorry?! You think it is so easy with just a sorry to cover up your failure?!” He grabs and pulls my hair once again.
This moment, the tears are almost filling up my eyes.
Ah.. don’t cry.. Hold it, Vil..
“I’m really sorry father.. I will do better..” lowering my voice tone so it didn’t creak.
He clicks his tongue and lets go of my hair harshly once again.
“It’s so easy for you to just say sorry, huh? You stupid useless heiress!”
He starts by kicking my shoulder, down to my stomach.
When he kicks my stomach, the automatic response from me is covering my stomach with my arms and my knees almost touching my head.
He keeps kicking me twice on my shin bones.
After that he leaves me on the ground then gets out of the dining room.
Still grimacing from the pain on the ground, this time my mother comes to me.
“Ohh.. poor dear.. You shouldn’t have done that yesterday. Look at you now, dear.” she says while just standing there holding her classy cup for tea.
In this situation, I can’t let out a single word to her.
My eyes are still shutting because I’m sure if I open it the tears will fall down.
“You know what you must do next time, my dear.”
After her sentence, she starts moving the glass right above me.
“Let’s remember today’s lesson shall we?” She says before pouring her hot tea.
Thankfully I successfully cover my face and neck with my hands before it hits my face.
“From now on please let our daughter do better.” She says while pouring it.
Grimace once again because of how hot the tea hits my body.
Feels like the tea gets through my school uniform.
“I will meet you once you’ve done with your breakfast.” she says then leaves me alone in the dining room.
Still lie down on the ground.
My heart beats and takes breath faster.
Tighten the grips on my hands.
The anger inside myself keeps piling up.
My mouth already opens and I want to scream.
But nothing comes out of it.
“Stupid reputation..” This is the only thing that comes out of my mouth.
**After cleaning myself**
After that incident, I want to make a call to the twins but my phone is nowhere to be found.
As far as I remember, it should be on my desk but it’s missing right now.
Did they? Isn’t it too much?
Sighing loudly because how bad this day just started.
When I get out of my room, on my way heading to the dining room again, Gerry already stands up in front of my door.
“Good morning, Mrs. Vilheimina. Please let me accompany you to the dining room.” He says.
“Morning again, Gerry. It’s okay. I can walk by myself.” replying to him but he stops me.
That catches my attention to look at him with a confused face.
Gerry never did this before.
Even at the time that I made my worst mistake, he never got this kind of command.
“My apologies, Mrs. Vilheimina. I know it might be uncomfortable but your parents told me to walk over you these past three days.” He explains.
“Ahh.. I see. But why only three days?” I ask him while we’re on our way to the dining room.
“You will figure it out later, Mrs. Vilheimina. Your mother has a message for you after you’re done with your breakfast.” He says.
“Thank you for letting me know, Gerry.” replying to him.
“My pleasure.”
We arrive at the front door of the dining room.
“Alright here we are.” He opens the door for me “Please eat well and enjoy your breakfast, Mrs. Vilheimina. I will be right behind you.”
As a response to him, I bow a little then walk toward my seat.
Based on how the table looks, it is slightly different than before.
Seems like my brother has already left for school.
Done with my breakfast, Gerry gives me a white envelope from my mother.
Open it up then find just a single paper inside of it.
Dear my beloved daughter
I already made a call with your principal that you’re not going to school today.
But on the phone call before, he told me that next week you’re not going to
the school but you’re going to attend a summer camp that was held by the embassies.
The schools who attend this summer camp are from the other conglomerate schools.
In this summer camp, there won’t be any studies about academics.
They said this is the place where your school is going to have a lot of competition
with the other school. That’s why we need a lot of preparation before those days come.
You will meet someone today at 10 AM and she will help you to get ready for this
summer camp. Besides this will help you to not make any embarrassment for our family.
You should be grateful to me that I want to help you, my dear.
P.S mother loves you, dear. Good luck with that.
Squeezing the tip of the letter that she just wrote to me.
The words ‘loves’ and ‘dear’ are just not right to be there.
They didn’t know anything about that match.
The only thing they care about is the result and their reputation.
Just don’t say anything that you didn’t mean it all!
But that’s not the important thing in this letter.
When I calm down a little bit, I just realize that I almost forgot the whole thing about this message.
Because of that, I want to ask the twins about this.
Once again, I just remember that my phone is nowhere to be found this morning.
Besides, my mother didn’t mention anything about my phone in that letter.
Does that mean they didn’t take my phone? Did I forget where I put it last time?
“Um.. Gerry?” I call him while he’s cleaning the table.
“Yes, Mrs. Vilheimina? What can I help you with?” He asks.
“Do you know where my phone is?”
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Vilheimina. I don’t think I’ve seen your phone this morning. What is wrong?” He asks me once again.
Hm. That's weird. What time is it?
Looking at the nearest clock in this room.
The clock on the wall shows the time 09:30 AM.
Still have time to at least look for my phone when I get back to my room.
“Mrs. Vilheimina?” Gerry interrupts my thoughts.
“Oh. It’s nothing. Maybe I forgot where to put my phone, that's all.” Stand up from my seat.
“Alright I want to rest a little bit in my room, Gerry. I still have time at least twenty minutes before the guess comes, right?”
“Correct, Mrs. Vilheimina. Please allow me to accompany you.” He says.
When I Arrive at my room, I immediately look for my phone.
Already look at every place in my room but still can’t find it.
Sit on my bed for a while.
Try to remember the last time that I used my phone.
Realization comes to my head, the last time I used my phone was last night.
Also every night I always recharge my phone so it will be ready for the day.
Ok. This is weird. Did someone take it?
Idea comes through my head again.
Maybe I can make a sound from my phone by calling it with another phone.
Unfortunately, I always set up my phone to vibrate.
But I hope that’s enough to make a sound so I know where my phone is.
Open the door room to ask for help from Gerry
At the same time, it looks like Gerry wants to knock on my door.
“Good morning, Mrs. Vilheimina. Your guess is already here. Please let me lead the way to her.” He says.
Huh? Is it thirty minutes already? Or did she come earlier?
When I step out of the room, Gerry locks my room then walks in front of me.
Something is wrong here.
My mother said I’ll meet her at the backyard but why doesn't Gerry seem to lead me that way?
“We’re here, Mrs. Vilheimina.'' He stops his steps right in front of a room.
This room.. This is the one where I got my worst punishment.. Why must they bring her here..
This is like the most private room in this house.
No sound will come out from this room.
It’s just an empty room but they always tell the maids to clean it up everyday.
Gerry opens up the door and lets me into the room.
The room is still dark.
They haven't turned on the lights yet.
In the room, there are two other butlers who always practice martial arts with me before.
“Agghh..” Someone’s voice coming from the dark.
One of the butlers turns on the lights and something that I never expected shows up.
There’s someone sitting on a chair with both of her hands and legs handcuffed.
This person also has a chain connected to her neck with the floor.
“Finally I can kill a Valter.” She says with a smirk on her face.
